PEMF for Osteoarthritis – Protocol for the MA200

PEMF for Osteoarthritis - Rife MA200 Protocol

Arthritis and osteoarthritis requires a long term treatment protocol to reduce or slow the degeneration associated with this type of condition. It also requires daily supplementation or diet that provides the nutrients required to support health joint and bone growth. Some of these nutrients include calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and collagen or gelatin as a collagen source. It is important to speak to your practitioner for support on which supplements are best for your situation. PEMF for osteoarthritis can be a valuable adjunctive therapy program to help to reduce inflammation and pain.

PEMF therapy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

An interesting study on PEMF therapy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome was published recently in the Journal of Advanced Research. The double-blind trial compared the efficacy of pulsed ultrasound with pulsed electromagnetic therapy for the treatment of postnatal carpal tunnel syndrome and found that PEMF improved grip strength, reduced pain and could be an effective therapy for patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The study included 40 patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome.

The study ran for four weeks during which time patients were given exercises to help to improve the condition and groups of patients received either pulsed ultrasound therapy or PEMF therapy three times a week for four weeks. The patients received PEMF therapy at 50Hz for 30 minutes per session. 50Hz on the Rife Model MA and UA devices is frequency number 297 and there is a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome program on both the Rife Model MA and UA.

PEMF therapy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Research - Outcome of the Study

The study measured pain levels, sensory and motor distal latencies, hand grip strength and conduction velocities of the median nerve. After therapy, the groups who received therapy showed significant improvement in all of the areas measured. There was also a difference between the two groups, with the group who received PEMF therapy showing more improvement than the group who received pulsed ultrasound therapy.

Since the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome include pain, inflammation and discomfort, it should not really be surprising to show improvements in these areas since both TENS and PEMF have been shown to help reduce pain, increase circulation and decrease inflammation.

It is also important to note that no adverse side effects were reported for either PEMF or ultrasound therapy. Unlike pain medication and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the use of PEMF therapy for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome could offer a drugless alternative to the current pharmaceutical treatments available.

Rife Health Challenge Autumn

By far the greatest advantage of owing your own Rife Model MA200 is the fact that programs on the device can be used prophylactically to help to support the body in preventing conditions rather than waiting for them to occur.

Autumn officially began on the 20th of March, and as the seasons change, a lot of us often experience an increase in conditions like colds and flu. For those who suffer from these seasonal conditions, now is the time to add programs like cold and flu, bronchitis and sinusitis to your weekly Rife protocol, using them throughout April and May to help your body to fight off these conditions before they start.

Rife Health Challenge

There are several programs on your Model MA200 that can help to prepare the body to fight off seasonal conditions. These programs include the Sleep or Schumann program, the cold and flu program, the sinusitis program and of course immune system stimulation.

Unlike when you are treating a condition, using the rife prophylactically does not require you to use your machine daily, but rather once or twice a week. So, to create a program for autumn, you can easily add one or two programs each weekend or fit them into your current Rife protocol.

Here are some of benefits of adding these conditions to your autumn rife protocol.

Sleep

Sleep is a vital part of treating any condition because the immune system and the body’s healing mechanisms are most active at night. That is why we suggest you use the Sleep or Schumann programs on a regular basis or every night with the Maxi MAT which allows you to treat yourself while you are sleeping. To boost the immune system add sleep to your regular protocol and especially as we move into autumn.

Cold and Flu

Depending on you, adding cold and flu to your weekly protocol can help to reduce the chances that you will develop flu this winter. Killing off pathogens and keeping them under control is the key to using your Rife machine prophylactically. If you suffer from other winter conditions then replace cold and flu with the relevant condition like bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis etc.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis and a post nasal drip can often be the catalyst for developing other related conditions during seasonal changes. If you suffer from a post-nasal drip or sinusitis then adding this program to your Autumn protocol can help to reduce the likelihood of developing bronchitis or other chest related infections in the coming months

Immune System Stimulation

Finally, immune system stimulation is a must to help to keep your immune system in the position to fight off colds and flu. Adding immune system stimulation to your autumn protocol and even better to your monthly general rife protocol is a great way to keep your body in top fighting condition.

Autumn Rife Protocol

Over the next five weeks you could use the following protocol, or design your own around your particular needs:

Sleep program – daily or at least 3 times a week to support the natural immune system

Cold and Flu – Run once a week

Sinusitis – Run twice a week

Immune System Stimulation – 3 times a week

Here is an example protocol to follow until winter starts. The purple section is overnight treatment, yellow is daily treatment. Feel free to use this protocol to create your own or adjust it as necessary depending on your lifestyle and requirements.

TENS PEMF for Fatigue

November – Fighting Fatigue

So many of us write off fatigue and the effects of fatigue, particularly at this time of year. After all, we will be going on vacation soon, so why worry about exhaustion now? The truth is that fatigue should be a red flag in terms of your health and if you have a Rife PEMF machine, then you should consider taking advantage of the available programs to support health and to help you fight off fatigue.

November is like running the last five kilometers of a marathon. The finish line is in sight; Christmas vacation is around the corner; you deserve a medal for your efforts throughout the year; and yet, after burning both ends of the candle for the past nine months, the finish line almost seems out of reach. That is why the November Rife Health Challenge is going to focus on fatigue and how you can use your Rife PEMF device to fight the effects of fatigue.

We urge you not to write off the fact that you are feeling fatigued. Although mainstream medicine sees fatigue as a symptom of a disease, the truth is that energy is one of the most direct signs of your state of health. If you have no energy, the body has no energy, and if your body has no energy then you cannot maintain a healthy state.

Start paying attention to how energetic you feel. When your energy levels are low, act. Don’t wait for the body to become ill to force you to rest. Rest, relaxation and sleep are all vital to give your body the time to heal and to allow your body to produce the energy you need to thrive.

PEMF and TENS therapy have been shown to support a healthy metabolism, to reduce fatigue and to improve overall health by supporting mechanisms like circulation and tissue oxygenation. These factors all contribute to improving your energy levels. The following programs can help you through these last few weeks before Christmas.

For the November Health Challenge commit to improving sleep and energy to fight fatigue.

  1. Run the Schumann program daily, last thing at night before bed using whole body treatment. Better still, use the Maxi MAT and run Schumann while you are sleeping. Improving the quality of sleep will go a long way to helping you reduce fatigue.
  2. Run circulation twice a week to improve overall energy levels. Circulation brings vital oxygen and nutrients to the tissues of the body. By providing these building blocks to your cells, your body will automatically have more energy.

Read our latest blog article for more information on how TENS and PEMF therapy boosts energy to reduce fatigue.

Why Half of Our Clients are Healthy

Although the Rife UA offers programs for over 700 conditions, the majority of our customers have a Rife PEMF device, not to treat a specific condition, but rather to promote and maintain their overall health.

Other than supplements, there are few drugs and medications in the world that are aimed at promoting health rather than treating disease. The truth is that medication is not suitable for such purposes. In contrast, alternative health therapies like the Rife PEMF device and others can help to support your health, thereby preventing the conditions in the body that promote disease.

Here are the top reasons why our healthy clients have the Rife PEMF:

  • To combat the effects of stress and inflammation
  • To promote and ensure healthy sleep
  • To support healthy circulation
  • To improve energy levels and increase metabolism

RifeChallengeMA2002

Stress and inflammation

We all know that stress can take a toll on our health but few people realize the underlying mechanisms that stress causes that do damage to the body. When you are stressed, the entire metabolism of your body changes. Your body goes into fight or flight mode, healing is switched off and so is the immune system, leaving you open to threat and disease. Stress is invariably accompanied by inflammation which actually damages the body. Where the inflammation occurs depends on each individual. Inflammation has been directly linked to cancer and many of the other modern diseases we face.

PEMF and Tens therapy has been used for decades to help to reduce anxiety and stress and to treat various forms of depression. Although chronic depression and anxiety are often long term conditions we all suffer from occasional bouts of stress or anxiety occasionally. Ignoring these periods can be extremely detrimental to your health.

Our healthy clients know that using the Rife PEMF during stressful periods helps them to reduce the stress and the effects of stress on the body, keeping them healthy and not only coping with what life throws at them but thriving.

Sleep

Sleep is crucial for maintaining good mental and physical health. Without sufficient quality sleep, your body cannot regenerate and your immune system cannot create the cells vital for protecting you. Stress and lack of sleep often go hand in hand and they are truly the Bonny and Clyde of ill-health.

TENS and PEMF can help you and your body get a good night’s rest by increasing sleep time and increasing sleep quality, which in turn improves quality of life. By promoting healthy sleep, you are promoting overall health.

Promoting healthy periods of sleep, particularly when you are stressed on struggling to sleep is a kay to supporting your overall health and our healthy clients all report using the sleep frequencies to support and improve their sleeping habits.

Circulation

Circulation is the key to a healthy body and a healthy life. Circulation is the process which provides your entire body with nutrients to thrive and it is the process which removes toxins from the entire system. Without healthy circulation tissues do not get the oxygen they need to survive.

Our modern, sedentary lifestyle has played a huge role in reducing circulation and causing ill-health. Exercise is the best way to help to improve circulation, but the Rife PEMF can also help to support and promote circulation, particularly for people who can’t move around a lot or who don’t necessarily have the time to do so every day.

Studies show that TENS therapy can improve blood flow by up to 35% thereby supporting healthy wound healing and circulation. These are by no means the only studies either.

Using the Rife PEMF device daily to promote healthy circulation can help to support your overall health, particularly when you are not able to get out of those all-important meetings. Our healthy clients also list circulation as a regular part of their health protocol.

Energy & Metabolism

The most profound benefit and reason why healthy people use the Rife PEMF device daily is because TENS and PEMF therapy directly supports healthy energy levels and metabolism. We tend to think of energy levels as a determination of how much we can do every day, and while that is important, we seldom think of energy levels in terms of health.

Every cell in your body produces energy for you. When the cells are low on energy, you are low on energy. When your cells don’t have enough energy your health is directly affected. This means when you feel your batteries are running low, you are actually on your way to ill-health.

TENS and PEMF have been shown to support metabolism and energy levels at cellular level. Not only can the Rife PEMF device supplement your energy levels, but it can do so at cellular level to help you achieve your maximum potential. In fact, TENS therapy is so effective at supporting energy levels that studies show TENS improves endurance, exercise and muscle strength in athletes.

Our healthy clients report that energy support is one of the programs they rely on for overall health.

TENS PEMF Therapy for Prostate

In this stressful world, sleep is vital to allow your body to regenerate and heal. When sleep is reduced by stress, there is a double effect on your body: Lack of sleep and stress increase inflammation and your body has less time to heal. An enlarged prostate not only interrupts sleep but can be uncomfortable and even debilitating. Although surgery is the preferred option for reducing BPH, there are other non-invasive alternatives like TENS PEMF therapy for prostate that can offer you symptomatic and long term relief for this condition.

An enlarged prostate is a common complaint for men as they get older with 60% of men over the age of sixty diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. In fact, most men will face a diagnosis of enlarged prostate at some point in their lifetime, and for most individuals the condition can severely interfere with their quality of life.

TENS PEMF Therapy for Prostate

BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate gland. This gland surrounds the urethra and as it increases in size, it begins to restrict or even block the urethra, making urination difficult. The symptoms of BPH reflect this, namely:

  • An urgent need to urinate which can often result in interrupted sleep
  • Hesitation before urine begins to flow
  • Straining to urinate
  • A sense that the bladder is full
  • Leakage or dribbling after urination

Although an enlarged prostate has been indicated as the cause, the underlying cause of why the prostate becomes enlarged has yet to be definitively identified. Doctors are however in agreement that lack of circulation and inflammation play a pivotal role in the enlargement process. Since TENS PEMF therapy for prostate can help to improve circulation and reduce inflammation and address other symptoms like pain and even sleep, this type of therapy is a logical choice where it comes to addressing BPH.

TENS PEMF therapy for prostate- Pain

Transcutaneous Nerve Stimulation therapy or TENS has been used for decades for various forms of pain relief and is now widely accepted as safe and effective for severe forms of pain like labor pain. There are even studies that show that TENS is more effective than analgesics in addressing chronic pelvic pain and prostatitis.

In recent years, various studies on TENS PEMF therapy for prostate have come to light. In 2008, a study compared TENS and analgesics for the treatment of chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome. This study found that TENS therapy was not only effective for the treatment of chronic pain and prostatitis but in fact outperformed the other therapies by a significant margin.

The results of study were as follows:

This study used 60Hz and 100Hz and treatment was done 5 days a week for four weeks.

But TENS and PEMF therapy don’t only address the pain associated with the condition. There are also studies which show that PEMF therapy can be very effective in reducing inflammation.

TENS PEMF therapy for prostate – Inflammation

It is the inflammation associated with BPH that accounts for some of the enlargement of the prostate and consequently some of the symptoms like reduced prostate volume, reduced urine flow and increased urine residue. Studies show that both chronic and acute inflammation can play a role in the proliferation of prostatic tissue and that the oxidative stress caused by inflammation can lead to tissue damage within the prostate gland which results in hyperplastic growth. Reducing inflammation can therefore be supportive in addressing these symptoms and the condition in general and may even play a role in preventing the condition.

The problem with prevention however, is that most anti-inflammatories cannot be taken on a long term basis. TENS PEMF therapy for prostate is however different. TENS therapy and PEMF therapy have been shown to be both safe and effective in the long term and these therapies can be used prophylactically too.

In 2011 a study on pulsed electromagnetic therapy for benign prostate hyperplasia published in the International Journal of Nephrology, TENS PEMF therapy for prostate was shown to be an extremely effective, non-invasive therapy alternative for BPH.

The study included 22 patients who were suffering from BPH and who were given placebo or electromagnetic therapy. The group who received PEMF therapy at radiofrequencies had reduced prostate volume, reduced urine residue, and improved urine flow rate. The PEMF group also had improved IPSS scores International Prostate Symptom Score.

These are by no means the only studies on TENS PEMF therapy for prostate either. In 2011, a canine study on BPH revealed that PEMF therapy reduced prostatic volume by 57%. The study concluded that the efficacy of PEMF on BPH in dogs was suggestive that this type of therapy would be suitable for humans and that reduction of blood supply may be a factor in the underlying causes of BPH.

TENS PEMF therapy for prostate – Circulation

As with any condition, circulation is a vital part of supporting the healing process and in fact supporting health in general. Although TENS PEMF studies focusing on circulation in BPH are lacking, there are an abundance of studies on TENS and PEMF therapy where it comes to promoting circulation.

The most recent study on the effects of PEMF on circulation was published in the Journal of Bioelectromagnetics focusing on individuals with diabetes mellitus. This study used ultrasound biomicroscopy to observe the effects of pulsed electromagnetic therapy on blood flow and circulation. The researchers concluded that PEMF therapy could increase blood flow velocity in even the smallest veins in people with or without diabetes mellitus.

TENS PEMF therapy for prostate studies and research

While TENS is effective for the pain associated with chronic prostatitis and other pelvic conditions like BPH, PEMF therapy has also been shown to be effective at managing these conditions. PEMF therapy can improve circulation and it has been shown to reduce inflammation. TENS and PEMF have even been shown to help to reduce stress and anxiety, and to improve overall quality of life.

When you combine the benefits of PEMF therapy with TENS therapy thereby addressing the symptoms as well as some of the underlying causes of the condition then you have a powerful combination for treating BPH and other prostate conditions. When you consider that TENS PEMF therapy can be used prophylactically, then you have to wonder why more physicians aren’t telling their male patients about TENS PEMF therapy for prostate health.

PEMF Therapy for Depression

PEMF Therapy for Depression

When it comes to depression, the truth is that the underlying causes of depression are about as varied as general medical conditions themselves. Most chronic conditions result in some form of depression. I mean, who can live with constant pain on a daily basis and not feel depressed in some way or another? That is why the studies on PEMF therapy for depression include studies on topics as diverse as fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.

This diversity is also the beauty of PEMF therapy for depression. Although not a cure all, PEMF therapy addresses some of the most common underlying causes of general chronic conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia and other long-term conditions. By addressing the underlying causes and addressing these conditions you can help to alleviate some of the depression. In other words, if you reduce the pain, you reduce the underlying cause of depression. Similarly, if you reduce the inflammation, you reduce one of the underlying cause of pain and swelling and this in turn helps to alleviate some of the depression.

I do not mean to imply that all cases of depression are linked to an underlying condition. Depression is often also the main chronic condition. In fact, chronic conditions and depression can lead to the chicken and the egg situation. Depression causes lack of sleep, fatigue and anxiety and this contributes to a lack of exercise and a loss of quality of life which in turn contributes to conditions like depression, arthritis, joint pain and other chronic conditions. Conditions like arthritis and joint pain can make exercise painful which in turn contributes to an increase in depression. So it can be really hard to isolate whether depression is at the heart of other chronic conditions or whether the chronic condition is the cause of depression.

PEMF Therapy for Depression

Luckily, unlike medication which is often only effective for a single of condition, PEMF therapy is proving effective for a variety of conditions including depression, arthritis, migraines, pain and inflammation.

How PEMF Therapy for Depression Works

In order to understand the effect of TENS and PEMF therapy for depression, you need to understand a little about how your brain and brain chemicals work. Your body and the environment are in a constant state of biofeedback. The environment, or your circumstances, interact with the body and the body in turn reacts to, and interacts with, your environment. In terms of emotion, your environment tells the brain what state it should be in and the brain in turn gives you a way to interpret your environment.

Think about a day that you had looked forward to for a long time. Your first date or a day you had a special evening planned. When you woke up and realized that the special day had arrived, you told you brain, it was going to be a great day. The brain in turn created all of the chemicals you need to enjoy the day. If you think back to that day, you will most likely find, the little things most likely bothered you less. The traffic was not as irritating, the waiter who spilled your water, was not as big a deal, and the day turned out to be a good day. Conversely, on a day you dreaded, the traffic was far worse, and everything went wrong.

Essentially, the state you are in affects your perception of your environment. It provides a “filter” that affects how you perceive the events around you. The state of mind you are in, is to a large degree, determined by the frequencies and chemicals manufactured by your brain. When the brain is in a relaxed state it produces lower frequencies, from 8 to 12 Hz for example, and it triggers the manufacture of compounds like serotonin and dopamine or the “feel good” chemicals. When your brain is in a stressed state, it causes chemicals like adrenaline and cortisol to be produced and it functions at higher frequencies.

As mentioned, the brain and the environment are in a constant feedback situation. Your brain chemicals change depending on the environment and your perception of the environment changes depending on the chemicals in the brain. This means that, by changing the environment you can change the chemicals your body manufactures and this can in turn affect perception.

There are many theories about how TENS and PEMF therapy for depression work. Some theories suggest that PEMF and TENS affect the chemicals manufactured by the brain, which in turn affects brain function and therefore these therapies affect mood. Other theories, like the entrainment theory, suggest that you can affect brain function by introducing frequencies that support relaxation and a general feeling of contentment and that by introducing these frequencies, the brain manufactures chemicals that support these moods.

PEMF Therapy for Depression – The Research and Studies

Irrespective of how TENS and PEMF therapy for depression actually work, the fact is that the FDA has approved numerous TENS, PEMF and CES therapy devices for the treatment of anxiety and depression.

In a recent study published in the Journal of Practical Pain management, researchers compared the effects of CES therapy for depression with Paxil, Zoloft and Prozac. CES an acronym for cranial electrostimulation. The review compared the results from several studies done on these pharmaceuticals with the results of 8 studies done on CES therapy. The results were amazing.

CES therapy was two to three times more effective than all of the pharmaceuticals that were included as a part of the study for treating depression. The study also concluded that patients spent about half as much for the therapy with an average $600 dollars spent on CES therapy compared with over $1600 being spent on Prozac for example, in the first year. What the study does not take into account is that in the second year zero would be spent on CES therapy since the machine was already bought and paid for and patients would still spend $1600 on medication.

The Rife PEMF device provides 8 – 20Hz and the handheld cylinders can be used for treating the upper body and head area. You can rent or buy a model MA200 device and experience the effects of entrainment for yourself.

TENS Therapy for Asthma

According to the Global Asthma Report published in 2014, South Africa has one of the leading mortality rates where it comes to asthma, in spite of the fact that asthma can be successfully managed and treated. The report stated that the majority of asthma deaths were due to inappropriate management of asthma due to an over-reliance on medication that provides relief, rather than strategies aimed at asthma prevention. TENS therapy for asthma has been shown to reduce inflammation and inflammatory markers, and has been shown to help to reduce the condition. This type of therapy could therefore be a valuable tool in the management and reduction of asthma.

TENS Therapy for Asthma

TENS Therapy for Asthma

TENS Therapy for Asthma – What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic long-term inflammatory disease of the respiratory system. Inflammatory markers therefore play a prominent role in the development and continuance of the condition. Cytokines and leukotrienes are compounds that are responsible for your body's inflammatory response.

When your body reacts to something, like an environmental allergen for example, then it produces inflammatory markers like cytokines which form part of your body’s protective system. In the case of asthma, these cytokines cause the tissues in the lungs to become inflamed. The inflammation then causes a restriction in the airways and this hinders your ability to breathe normally. A reduction in inflammation and your body’s inflammatory response can therefore be a valuable strategy in the prevention or reduction of the underlying causes of asthma. In fact, medications aimed at long term reduction and prevention of asthma are based on this principle.

TENS Therapy for Asthma - Inflammation

Studies show that cytokines like interleukin 1 play a very important role in the development of allergies and asthma. Some medications are even aimed at reducing these interleukins in order to treat and prevent asthma. But what many people don’t realize is that studies show that therapies like TENS therapy for asthma and PEMF therapies are also effective at reducing inflammation and the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the body.

In a study on the post-operative effects of PEMF, researchers found that patients who had received PEMF therapy after the operation had 275% less IL-1 beta concentrations than patients who had not received the therapy. Although the concentrations were measured in the wounds of the patients, there are numerous other studies that indicate the TENS and PEMF therapies may be effective at reducing inflammatory markers like interleukin in the body. Reduce the inflammation and you can effectively manage and even reduce conditions like asthma.

TENS Therapy for Asthma – The Research and Studies

The studies don’t only focus on the reduction of inflammation. There are also studies done specifically on the effect of TENS therapy for asthma.

In a randomized controlled trial published in the Journal of Respiratory Physiology, researchers found that TENS therapy reduced the decline of FEV1 in patients with asthma. FEV1 or forced expiratory volume is one of the most important measurements used to assess respiratory health. FEV1 is simply the amount of air you can exhale in one second. FEV1 values are measured and then converted into a percentage of normal based on each patient.

Exercise often leads to a reduced FEV1 in asthma patients since exercise often exacerbates asthma. By reducing the decline in FEV1 values, the study effectively illustrates the preventative action of TENS therapy in asthma patients.

The study also found that patients who received TENS therapy for asthma may prolong exercise training and duration and that it may also allow for higher exercise intensity in these patients.

Another randomized controlled study done on patients with chronic pulmonary obstructive disease confirmed that TENS therapy for asthma increased FEV1 in patients with COPD.

TENS Therapy for Asthma – Quality of life

Although FEV1 is an important tool in the measurement of asthma, it is not the only consideration for asthma patients. In fact, I am sure that if asked, the effects of asthma on quality of life would rate far higher than an FEV1 value. In a study done on TENS therapy in children with asthma, researchers found that after eight weeks of treatment, quality of life as expressed by the pediatric asthma quality-of-life questionnaire was significantly improved in the children who received TENS therapy.

TENS therapy for Asthma – Summary of Benefits

The benefits of TENS and PEMF therapy extend far beyond FEV1 values. Here are just some of the benefits of using the Rife PEMF device to help you manage or control your asthma:

  • TENS PEMF therapy is non-invasive
  • TENS PEMF therapy has almost no side-effects
  • PEMF therapy can help to reduce the body's inflammatory response
  • A reduction in inflammation means an overall reduction in asthma
  • TENS and PEMF therapy are cost effective long-term solutions for health

TENS Therapy for Asthma – What to Expect

Most people who invest in a TENS or PEMF device, for some reason expect immediate, almost miraculous, results. They don’t however seem to expect the same from medication. The truth is that PEMF and TENS are highly effective at reducing inflammation and reducing the other symptoms associated with chronic conditions like asthma, but these devices are not miracle machines.

If you treat with asthma medication, you will treat asthma for life. If you treat asthma with TENS or PEMF, you will be treating asthma for life. The only difference between medication and TENS is that TENS has no side effects. You won’t have to keep paying for your Rife PEMF device year after year unlike medication, the cost of which keeps escalating every year.

You can therefore expect the following if you choose to treat your asthma with a Rife PEMF device:

  • A gradual reduction in inflammation
  • Which could lead to a gradual reduction in the asthma you are experiencing
  • Which could allow for a gradual increase in the amount of exercise you are able to do
  • Which could lead to an increase in health and quality of life.

Isn’t it time to add Rife PEMF therapy to your asthma prevention strategies? PEMF therapy is also effective for other chronic inflammatory conditions like allergies. Click here to read about PEMF for Sinusitis and allergies.

PEMF Therapy for Dogs

PEMF Therapy for Dogs

If you have ever had a pet in pain, then you know as an owner how helpless it makes you feel. My cat has arthritis and my heart used to break when I watched her take our stairs, one at a time, in such an awkward manner. Although this article is about PEMF therapy for dogs, the information applies to all of your furry friends. I have been treating my cat for arthritis with my Rife PEMF and I can personally say that I am astounded by the difference in her.

Here is some of the information on how and why PEMF therapy for dogs and other animals offers an effective and affordable pain therapy alternative for your pets.

Why PEMF therapy for Dogs?

PEMF therapy has successfully been used for a variety of conditions in humans and these benefits seem to be available to your pets too. From PEMF therapy for arthritis, to TENS therapy for back pain, TENS and PEMF machines are becoming a very popular alternative for controlling pain and treating various conditions in humans and animals. The FDA has even cleared numerous PEMF and TENS devices for veterinary use.

To date, the studies on PEMF and TENS have found them to be safe and also relatively side-effect free. The same cannot always be said for medication. Although there are a number of drugs that can help to reduce pain in your pets, the cost of the drugs and their side-effects should not be overlooked. New warnings on NSAIDS for humans must alert us to the fact that drugs are not always as safe as they seem.

Medication comes with the extra complication of trying to ensure your pet gets its recommended daily dose of medication. If you have cats like mine, trying to get them to take tablets can be a life-threatening exercise for both the pet involved and the pet owner – namely me J.

TENS and PEMF therapy on the other hand is simple. I just place the PEMF MAT in my pet’s bed and start the device when I go to bed. My cat receives PEMF therapy while sleeping and I get to enjoy another scratch free day.

How PEMF Therapy for Dogs can be helpful

This type of therapy increases the amount of nitric oxide in the circulatory system. Nitric oxide supports the healing of tissues and bones and by supporting and promoting the healing process, the duration of pain is shortened.

PEMF also reduces inflammation which is one of the direct causes of pain. Inflammation is the process that causes injuries to swell, go red and feel painful. By reducing inflammation and the inflammatory response at the site of the injury, the intensity of the pain and the duration of the pain can be reduced.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy also improves circulation. Once again, circulation is a vital element for healing and by increasing circulation, you increase nutrients and oxygen provided to the area that needs to be healed. This in turn reduces the healing time and therefore the pain associated with the condition or injury.

TENS and PEMF are also effective at providing drug free pain relief. In fact, many devices are now prescribed by medical practitioners and vets specifically for pain relief where other therapy options are not available or where other types of therapy have been ineffective.

Human studies and PEMF Therapy for Dogs

Sadly, studies on the reduction of pain by PEMF therapy for dogs are lacking, but there is probably a very reasonable explanation. We may feel a telepathic bond with our dogs, but trying to determine a reduction of pain on a clinical basis may prove a little difficult when you have to rely on the dog’s perception of pain, and their ability to rate their pain on a scale of one to ten, not to mention the fact they would also have to tell you about it. But that doesn’t mean there are no studies at all.

PEMF Therapy for DogsStudies on dogs are limited to prostate conditions and osteoarthritis and pain but these studies have shown how effective PEMF therapy for dogs can be. There are also studies on PEMF therapy for pain in humans, and these studies have shown that PEMF therapy is an effective alternative for pain management. And then there are our clients, like this delightful Boerboel who is enjoying his weekly Rife PEMF therapy.

In fact, we have had so many Rife PEMF owners tell us that they sometimes have to fight their pets for a chance on the Rife PEMF machine, that we have launched a PEMF MAT specifically for pets. The MAT makes it even easier to treat your cat or dog with PEMF therapy. My cats love the MAT and they literally jostle for position when we run the arthritis and pain frequencies.

PEMF Therapy for Dogs – other Conditions

The benefits of TENS and PEMF therapy for dogs are not only limited to pain control for your pet either. PEMF and TENS therapy can be effective as an adjunctive therapy or an alternative therapy for:

Dogs don’t suffer from some of the conditions above but they do suffer from conditions like arthritis and improving circulation and health can only be good for your pet.

The Rife Model MA200 offers over 200 programs that you can use to keep your family, and your furry family, healthy at the same time. The Rife PEMF for PETs comes with a large mat and two smaller mats to help you to treat your cats and dogs to provide a healthier life for your pets.

Treatment is simple. Just place the mat in your pet’s normal bedding, or any convenient location where your pet will be happy to sleep. Set the program you want to use to run for a longer period of time. If you start the treatment late in the evening it can run overnight, providing your pet with the healing benefits of PEMF therapy.

TENS Therapy for Lower Back Pain

Let’s face it – chronic lower back pain is no joke, and when studies reveal effective strategies for reducing or managing this type of condition, then it may be worth investigating like when the International Journal of Surgical Technology undertook an analysis of TENS therapy for lower back pain in 2016 and found that TENS therapy resulted in less back pain for the patients who took part in the study. The research also found that TENS therapy reduced the medication used by these patients. This study shows that there are numerous benefits for choosing TENS and PEMF therapy as one of your pain management strategies.

According to research, TENS therapy may provide a safe alternative to lower back pain therapy because studies have shown that, unlike the medications and anti-inflammatories normally prescribed for chronic lower back, TENS therapy is not addictive and has no side effects.

Only last year, the FDA strengthened its warning about the use of NSAIDS for pain, stating that the use of NSAIDS can potentially cause heart attacks or strokes or increase your risks of these conditions by up to 50%. If you are constantly reaching for those over the counter medications that contain ibuprofen and diclofenac, then it may be time to consider investing in your own TENS machine to help reduce your risks and side-effects, and to save you some money at the same time.

In fact, many practitioners are now starting to accept TENS therapy as a viable therapy option where medications are no longer effective and some practitioners even prescribe TENS therapy as an additional therapy along with conventional medication.

Studies published in 2015 also found that TENS therapy for lower back pain was not only useful for reducing pain, but also had an impact on a patient’s wallet. Sadly, it is often the cost of treatment rather than the efficacy that begins to convince medical regulators to consider alternatives and in this case, TENS therapy is consistently being shown to be both effective in terms of the therapy and cost-effective in terms of savings on medication. TENS therapy reduces the number of visits needed to refill prescriptions. When the cost of lower back pain care averages $30 billion a year, cost savings begin to become extremely important to the medical administration.

In a study published by the same journal in 2015, a study of 22 913 patients’ records revealed that TENS therapy for lower back pain resulted in significantly fewer patients needing opioids a year after the study began. The study found that TENS patients used fewer medicines and had fewer patient events and this led to significant savings on a per patient basis. The study concluded by recommending physicians “be more aggressive in treating” chronic lower back pain patients with TENS therapy.

In fact, there seems to be an explosion of the use of TENS therapy for lower back pain over the last year or two. Here are just three of the studies done on this type of condition:

  • Tens therapy and Interferential Current therapy were both effective for lower back pain.
  • Electrical and magnetic therapies showed potential as a tool for pain management in chronic spinal cord injuries.
  • Tens patients required less medication, had fewer hospital visits, required less diagnostic imaging like x-rays and scans and even required less back surgery.

Circulation as a benefit of PEMF and TENS therapy for lower back pain

Any injury, and indeed overall health, depends on a healthy circulatory system. Circulation plays a pivotal due role in the healing of injuries in that it provides vital nutrients to the site of injury and it plays a role in removing the waste products from the site of injury to support healing.

A paper published in 2012 reviewed numerous studies on TENS and the effects of TENS therapy on wound healing. Although the overall conclusions of the review were inclusive due to insufficient data, the review stated that the clinical studies on wound healing were conclusive, showing benefits of 60% reduction in wound size, increases in blood flow of up to 35% in ulcers, and faster healing rates. TENS therapy and the increase in blood flow even decreased the numbers of re-amputations in patients with diabetes.

An improvement in circulation is therefore essential for overall health and also plays a role in healing, which in turn will help to reduce the amount of pain in the long term.

Additional Benefits of TENS therapy for Lower Back Pain

As mentioned above, the benefits of TENS therapy for lower back pain don’t only involve pain relief either. There are indirect benefits to you in terms of the cost of therapy, the savings as a result of a decrease in medication and decreased visits to the doctor, and then there are the unseen benefits like avoiding the risks and dangers associated with medications which may lead to increased risks of heart attacks and strokes.

In fact, one study conducted based on patient interviews found that the indirect benefits of TENS therapy for chronic lower back pain included enhanced physical function, an enhanced ability to get enough rest, and other physiological benefits too.

TENS Therapy for Lower Back Pain – The Alternatives

TENS therapy is not the only drug-free therapy for addressing lower back pain. Support and compression therapy (using back braces, and hot and cold therapy) have also traditionally been used to help to treat this type of condition.
